The first academic prekindergarten school in the DuBois area, Paint and Play School was established in 1971.
Its founders, a group of enterprising mothers, felt through an educational and social situation, their children would learn the readiness skills needed to make an easier transition from home to elementary school.
Paint and Play School's classes offered and length of classes has adapted with area birth rates and changes families have undergone with more parents employed outside the home.
With a brand new class schedule for 2011-2012, the school is able to educate 54 students in 3 classes: MWF 8:30-12:30 4-5 year old class,
T Th 9:30-2:30 4-5 year old class,
MWF 1:00-3:00 3 year old class.
Another exciting option requested by parents is the Tuesday and Thursday before school and after school program.
Paint and Play School is a private, academic, non-profit, non-religious Pre-Kindergarten School.
The School is licensed by the PA Department of Education's State Board of Private Academic Schools.
Paint and Play School strives to meet the evolving educational needs of its students using the PA Academic Standards for Pre Kindergarten. It is located at 32 West Scribner Ave DuBois, PA.
Paint and Play School follows a non-discrimination policy.
Status of the School
Paint and Play School is a Pre-Kindergarten School licensed by the Pennsylvania Department of Education State Board of Private Academic Schools.
The School is operated by the Paint and Play School Board of Directors, comprised of parents and guardians of current and former students as well as members of the area community.
Paint and Play School INC. is a Federal 501c3 non-profit, public charity. The school does not receive funds from federal, state or local governments.
The School operates on Tution, Fundraising and Donations.
The School is also registered with the Pennyslvania Bureau of Charitable Organizations. Donations and contributions to the School are tax deductable.
Paint and Play School is a PA EITC eligible school. The School works withThe Children's Scholarship Fund of PA, The Bravo Educational Foundation and The Bridge Educational Foundation to help families attain Tuition Assistance Scholarships.

Our Facilities
Paint and Play School is located in downtown DuBois, just 2 doors from City of DuBois Police Depatrment. EMS and Fire Fighting Departments are also located nearby. The School is a secure, locked facility.
Paint and Play School is housed in the historic and picturesque, former Osborne mansion, located on West Scribner Ave. The classroom and restroom facilities are located on the ground level and are also ADA accessible.
Our outdoor area includes a grassy lawn. Physical Education activities and Science activities etc. take place in this fenced in area.

Paint and Play School is located in downtown DuBois at 32 West Scribner Ave. Parking is available on Scribner Ave, High Streets and in the DuBois Municiple Lot.
