Paint and Play School News
Location
The School is located in renovated facilities at 32 West Scribner Ave. DuBois.   

These new facilities feature a street level entrance, grassy play area,  
handicapped accessible doorways and rest rooms in the classrooms.
Students and Families Helping Others
Students and Families participate in the Paint and Play School Annual Canned Food Drive.  This event, conducted in November
takes place in conjunction with classroom activities reminding the students of how fortunate we all are.  
All of the items are given to the Salvation Army, which uses  the items to create Christmas Care Packages for local families in need.
Christmas Family Fun Night
Students can family and friends to attend this annual event.  Everyone who attends
decorates Christmas Cards to be given to local nursing home residents and
community members confined to their homes.

All of the children create a holiday craft to take home or give as a gift.
The evening concludes  with Veggies and Dip, Fruit and Dip, Cheese and Crackers,
Christmas Cookies, milk and juice.
Many families enjoy this special evening event .
Out Door Exercise
Students have enjoyed outdoor exercise even in winter weather !

Paint and Play School's age requirements
are aligned with
D. A. S. D. minimum age requirements.

Registration for 2010-2011
Students Celebrate  A.A. Milne 's  Birthday
The MW F 12:00 5 year old class celebrate
the Birthday of Winnie the Pooh's creator A.A. Milne

Students marked the occasion by  bringing their own bears to school.
The students used their bears  to practice many math and science skills such
as sorting, classification and  story problem skills.  The students and their
bears even exercised together.  Students also practiced expressive language
skills, and enjoyed sharing Pooh stories.  They even shared the stories of the
origins of their own bears.  The students concluded the unit by  experiencing
activities about PA  bears and hibernation.
Smokey Bear Visits 4 and 5 Year Old Classes
Members of the Sabula
Volunteer Fire Company  
treated the students to a
visit from Smokey Bear.  
Smokey reminded the
students of the importance
of their role in the
prevention of wild fires.  
Students also viewed
posters of various types of
wildlife residing in our
forests and streams.
Students enjoy a variety of Art Experiences
5 Year Old ClassCompletes Bat Study
The M W F 12:00 class
participated in a variety of
cross curriculum activities
that introduced them to many
fascinating facts about bats
and how they benefit our
world.  The students
completed the bat study by
creating their own bat hats.
T-Th 1 PM Class
Paint and Play School's youngest
students create their own snacks
during food experience activities.  
These activities are woven into the
curriculum and a natural part of the
learning experience for the class.

Bridge Educational Foundation, and Children's Scholarship Fund of PA  
still have funds available for Paint and Play School students
registered for the  2010-2011 school year.

Classes are held for 1 hour on the first day and a parent/guardian must stay for this session.
      Important information will be distributed to the parents on this day.

              Tues. – Thurs. Students               
               Tuesday September 7th   – class will last 1 hour – parent/guardian must stay        
                Thursday September 9th  – regular class schedule


              Mon. –Wed.–Fri. Students                
              Wednesday – September 8th   – class will last 1 hour – parent/guardian must stay

      Paint and Play School Parents and Guardians are encouraged
         to attend.  This program is designed for adults.

                                                    M-W-F 8:30 – 11:30  preschool class

       Kid’s Open House                 Thursday Sept 2nd   
      Students and parents will meet the teachers, tour the classroom, and have a snack.
      Members of the Board of Directors will be available to help with questions you may have.
